We keep cookies to a minimum. Our visitor statistics are cookieless.
Strictly necessary (always on)
| Name | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
sid | Set on your first visit. It protects our forms against cross-site attacks and keeps you logged in when you sign in. | Up to 30 days after your last visit |
sk_chat_v1 (local storage) | Only once you start a live chat: keeps the conversation open as you move between pages (see Live chat). | Cleared the next time you visit after 24 hours without using the chat, or straight away when you choose "Start a new chat" |
hv_start_v2 (local storage) | Only while you use the walkthrough at /start: keeps your answers on your device (including your name, phone number and email address, but never your password or photos) so a reload doesn't lose them. | Deleted when your email code is confirmed and Vic starts building, or when you clear this site's data |
hv_editor_page (local storage) | In your account's editor: remembers which page of your site you were last editing. | Until you clear this site's data |
hvx-scroll:<page> (session storage) | In your account's editor: keeps your place on the page while the preview reloads after a change. | Read and deleted straight away; gone when you close the tab |
These don't need your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, because they're strictly necessary for the site to work or for something you've asked for.
