Roof repairs
Roof repairs in Stockport
Slipped tiles, leaks and storm damage put right by Lee and a small crew. You get photos of what we find with every quote.
What a repair involves
Fix the fault, not the whole roof
Most roofs don't need replacing when something goes wrong. A single slipped slate, a cracked tile or a tired bit of flashing is often all that stands between a dry loft and a damp ceiling.
We get up on the roof, find where the water is actually getting in and take photos as we go. Water can travel along timbers before it drips, so the stain on your ceiling isn't always under the fault. Then we show you the pictures, explain what we would do and give you a quote for it.
- Pitched roofs in slate or tile
- Photos of the problem with every quote
- Fully insured
When people call us
Common roof problems we repair
If you spot any of these, it is worth getting the roof looked at before a small job turns into a bigger one.
Slipped or cracked tiles
Nails rust and tiles or slates work loose over time. A gap in the roof lets rain straight onto the felt and timbers underneath.
Leaks and damp patches
Brown stains on ceilings, damp in the loft or drips after heavy rain. We trace the leak back to where it starts.
Storm damage
High winds can lift tiles, ridges and flashing. If you find pieces in the garden after a storm, get the roof checked.
Loose ridge and verge
The tiles along the top and edges of a roof are bedded in mortar that cracks with age. Loose ones can fall and let water in.
Flashing and leadwork
Where the roof meets a chimney or wall, worn flashing is a common source of leaks. See our chimney repairs page.
Gutters and roof edges
Blocked or sagging gutters spill water onto walls and fascias. We cover that too on our guttering page.

Straight advice
Repair it or replace it?
Most of the time a repair is the right answer. Sometimes it isn't, and the photos help you see why.
Usually a repair
When the roof is sound overall
- A few slipped, cracked or missing tiles
- One leak with a clear cause
- Loose ridge tiles or worn flashing
- Damage from a single storm
Worth talking about
When problems keep coming back
- Tiles or slates failing all over the roof
- Several leaks in different places
- Rotten battens or sagging sections
- Repairs every winter on the same roof
If that sounds like yours, read about new roofs or book a roof inspection.
How much does a roof repair cost?
Every repair is quoted after a look, because no two roofs are the same. If you would like a full roof inspection first, those start from £95. See our prices page.
Will I see what is wrong?
Yes. Every quote comes with photos of what we found, so you can see the problem for yourself before you decide anything.
Do you repair flat roofs too?
We do. We work on pitched and flat roofs, including EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass. Have a look at our flat roofs page.
Are you insured?
Yes, Slatewick Roofing is fully insured.
When can I get hold of you?
We are open Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5pm. You can send a message or the quote form at any time and we will pick it up.
